Review: Lush Magic Mushroom bubble bar + Ex Factor ballistic

I popped into Lush in Preston on Monday, hoping to get my mitts on some reduced Valentines gift boxes, the "?" one in particular!

My stratergy with Lush now is wait till after the celerbratory day in question has gone (Valentines in this case) and then get the gift boxes for much cheaper - how stingy am i? haha

Unfortunately my master plan was foiled, there were no "?" boxes left and the only two items i managed to pick up were at usual prices. But considering these are the only two items out of the lot that i hadn't tried, i'm not really fussed.

Both items are limited addition, which usually means i fall in love with them instantly and have to mope about the fact i'll have to wait a whole year to get my hands one them again!

First off... Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar

Think Yummy Yummy Yummy mixed with vanilla, mmmm! This smells truely amazing and turns the water a gorgeous ruby red. The smell isn't over powering like some Lush products but does leave a lingering hint of vanilla on your skin.

The shape is so cute! but you'd be lucky to find a perfect shape as they're all a bit odd and squished but hey, it's going in the bath so who cares?

Left my skin feeling oh so soft and smelling amazing. Love, love, love this product!

RRP: 2.25

Next up... Ex Factor Ballistic

The only ex i'd love to have around! This guy is by far the cutest product Lush has ever made, and he doesn't disappoint.

Although i love the creamy bubbles of the bubble bars, theres still nothing like watching a ballistic fizzle up in the bath! You don't need much of this guy, an arm and a leg and perhaps his head, or you could just throw him in the deep end like i did and watch him fizzle out in all his glory.

Turned my bath water a gorgeous deep blue and left my skin lovely and soft and smelling just as sweet.

RRP: £1.95

All in all i loved both of these products and i wish wish wish that they were continued products. Why do you do this to us Lush? To hell with this limited edition stuff, i want these products on tap!

A possible OOTD!

I'm attending a christening soon and found myself asking the age old question, "what the heck am i going to wear!?"

I've been doing some major browsing these last few days, both online and in store. A few days ago i came across a stunning (what i thought was red but i ended up getting blue) Paul & Joe Sister dress

You'll have to excuse the scribble in this pic, i was pulling a funny face haha.

I was totally blown away by this dress on the website, but now i've got it i'm not so sure. The over-the-top ruched collar is slightly annoying and tends to ride up with it being an elasticated one shoulder.

I so much preffered it in red too, but blue is all they have :(

I'm undecided with this one.... Why does being a girl have to be so hard? haha! All my boyfriend has to do is just whack on a suit and hes good to go!

Long live the McQueen!

This news has truely dampened my day :(

Alexander Mcqueen was found dead at his London home mere hours ago. His death comes just days before London Fashion week and only a month before he was suspose to unveil his new collection in Paris.

He was one of my favourite ever designers. His creativity and ability knew no bounds and he has without a doubt created some of the most breath taking pieces i've ever seen. He will be sorely missed by both the fashion world and it's followers.

Long live the McQueen!

Review: Bare Minerals SPF15 Foundation

Good evening lovelies! :)

I've not done a review in a while, so i've gone all out on this one! I warn you, its long haha.

So any way, i changed my foundation recently, and since then i've been getting so many compliments on my skin. I finally plucked up the courage to go "bare" a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't easy!

I've been a devoted user of full coverage foundation for 5 years. Blemishes, slight acne scarring and uneven skin tone have meant I've never felt comfortable in anything less than a full face of full coverage.

I remember Bare Minerals foundation on QVC from years ago and how they aimed it mostly at women with imperfections such as rosacea and scarring. I remember begging my mum to order some for me (I was only 13 at the time) but as many mothers do, assured me the foudation she has always used was better and more importantly, cheaper!

As a company, Bare Escentuals has taken off since then and boasts a range of mineral foundations, blushes, eye shadows, brushes - pretty much everything you would need in your makeup collection. But along with it's rise in products, came it's rise in prices.

This foundation is £22, by any ones standards thats a bit expensive for 8g of powder. The powder comes in a moderately sized container with a plastic sive-like layer sectioning of the product from the lid. The idea is simple, shake a bit of product through the sive into the lid. Only it's not so simple, as the sive holes are a bit too big and by the end of a long day in you makeup bag, you have masses of foundation on the other side that goes everywhere when you take off the lid!

You really need a kabuki to apply this foundation, any old brush won't do. But if your not willing to part with £24 for the Bare Escentuals one, The Body Shop do a much cheaper version thats just as good. The foundation applies easily and quickly, but you do get a bit of powder flying off into the air!

In artificial light, it looks perfect; far better than my Mac Studio Fix Fluid. But in natural light it can sometimes look a bit powdery and has a bit of a strange sheen, but the coverage is still remarkable.

I'm deffinately converted, for now. Even with it's set backs, I still love how i'm able to wear something so light but still have the coverage of a full coverage, liquid foundation. And for me, it's worth a few more pounds and a bit of messing about!

Have any one you tried this foundation? If so what did you think of it?
