A New Year, some new resolutions!

Evening Lovelies!

I know most of you won't be reading this till tomorrow afternoon, so let me just say I hope you all had an amazing night and didn't get too tipsy!

2010 wasn't the best of years for me, so fingers crossed 2011 will be more in my favour. But with any new year, comes new resolutions, hopefully I'll be able to keep these ones!

So, here goes...

An oldy, but a goody, get fit!

Give my YouTube and blog a bit more love and attention

At least pass my exams, although an A would be good :)

Learn to look after myself as much as I look after others

Be a better Auntie to my gorgeous nephew, Ethan

Realise alcohol is NOT my friend haha

Keep calm, and carry on!

What are your New Year resolutions?

We're not in Kansas anymore...

Evening my lovely follows :) I took some time out of feeling sorry for myself (previous post explains) to share with you the latest editions to my growing shoe collection...

These beauties have been haunting me both online and in magazines for over a month now, and when I spotted them in my local Topshop they were the last pair... and my size!

FATE! I thought to myself. And who am I to mess with fate? So I grabbed them and headed to the till, stopping to apologise to my worn out visa on the way out.

I feel like Dorothy when I wear them, like they will take me back to Kansas (or Manchester I suppose) if i tap my heels 3 times.

RRP was £60, which my mum gave me a disapproving look for when I showed her.

God damn you Topshop and your fabulous shoes!

To all the lonely hearts...

I've been in a relationship with the most amazing guy for the last three years and have always known how lucky I was to have met him. We had an amazing connection that people wait a lifetime for.

Last night, after spending the entire day together, he texted me to say he no longer felt the same. After the only fight we've ever had we broke up. He no longer wanted to be with me, but he didn't know why.

I'm completely devastated. I never saw it coming a million miles off. I haven't eaten in almost 24 hours, I feel sick to the stomach and my chest feels like it's about to explode.

They say you never know what you had until it's gone, but knowing what I had will make this even worse.

I've never posted about my personal life before, but He was such a huge part of it and without him I feel like a different person, like I'm no longer myself.

I'm dreading my first New Years eve alone in 3 years. So to all the lonely hearts... any advice for the latest member of the club?

Dear Santa, Please can I have...

A Cloud 9 'O' Pleeease?

I am lusting over this beautiful contraption rather badly. After seeing the lovely Milly's (of Pearls & Poodles) review on it and seeing how amazingly bouncy and volumised it made her hair, I've been desperate to get myself some 'O' action.

I can't help but be put off by the price tag of £149 though, and that's not even including the rollers! Being a sucker for big hair, I've tried almost every curler and roller set I could get my hands on and they've all left both my hair and my expectations slightly deflated.

The 'O', according to Cloud 9, is the "next generation of styling" and I must say, I've certainly never seen anything like it. From what I gather, you take your roller size of choice (which has to be a Cloud 9 'O' roller, they retail in packs of 4 ranging from £15.95-£18.95), you pop the roller into the 'O' and wait a super speedy 4 seconds for the 'O' to heat up and voila! Your ready for the fiddly bit.

I've read a few good reviews on the 'O' but £149+ is a lot to spend and become disappointed.

Have any of you tried the 'O'? If so, what do you make of it's volumising skills?

Milo's all ready for his first Christmas!

Hey lovelies :) Hope you've all had a jolly good weekend!

So Milo's around 20 weeks now but it seems like only 2 weeks have passed since i first blogged about him! He's getting big (even though he's still tiny!)

I've been looking for coats and cosy jumpers for him now the weather is cold and I've recently purchased the cutest little Christmas jumper off a website called Urban Pup (www.urbanpup.com)

How adorable does he look?! I also bought him a personalised hoodie off the site with his name in on the back, written in bones!

Heres some other recent pictures of my little man...

I've caught Minaj fever!

A few weeks ago, if you would have said to me, "You know Nicki Minaj?", I would have honestly answered "No, but that Cher LLoyd takes about her all the time!" Out of pure curiosity I YouTubed her to see what all the fuss was about. I listened to three or four songs and officially made up my mind... I love miss Minaj!

Not only are her lyrics whitty as hell, the girl is seriously outrageous with her fashion and makeup, rivalling Lady GaGa (shocking, I know!)

Her Album "Pink Friday" dropped last week and she's just released a limited edition lipstick for MAC called Pink 4 Friday that has already completely sold out, but I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Review: GHD Midnight collection Gold IV Styler (picture heavy!)

Evening Sugarplums!

I have been seriously lusting over some new GHD's for a while, my old ones were coming up to four years old (veteran straighteners!). Apart from being covered in makeup from my rushing-to-get-ready hands, they were starting to smell slightly burnt. I was so glad when the Midnight Collection came out in time for my new purchase, as I know I would have been kicking myself afterwards if they hadn't! I ordered them off the www.feelunique.com as part of the "Deluxe Edition" set for £140 (RRP £150). The set also included a heat protection pouch, two rubberised clips, travel hair dryer and vanity mirror.

Exterior Case

The box and exterior case both boast this gorgeous baroque print. I love how every piece in this collection oozes luxury and sophistication, making your vanity table every so chic!

Heat Protective Pouch

Inside the pouch you'll find the straighteners and two rubberised clips. As i have a mass collection as Tigi Hardcore clips, I wasn't in need of any more but I am seriously crushing on these babies! They glide into hair so easily and don't snag and trap hair when you take them out.

Straighteners and rubberised clips

The straighteners themselves are a more streamlined, elegant version of the IV Styler, with only a few minor differences. First of all, the ceramic plates are gold, not yellow and the straighteners themselves are black. The "GHD" inscription on the side and on the hinge are also gold and there is an indented, shiny circle detail on the sides of the straighteners that can be also found on the rubberised clips. The most significant difference is the weight and size, the Gold IV Styler weighs slightly less and is slightly smaller than the bog standard IV Styler making it perfect for those who are constantly here, there and everywhere and have to take their straighteners with them!

My favourite difference however is something not mentioned in it's description, it glides through hair so effortlessly I had to double check there was actually hair between the plates!

Travel Hairdryer

I haven't yet tried this, but I can tell it will come in very handy come holiday time, when hairdryers aren't always essential but good to have just in case!

Vanity Mirror

Nice shot of my pj t-shirt there as well haha! This is so cute and a really thoughtful extra.

The overall presentation of this collection is flawlessly beautiful. So much care and thought has been put into each product and the range is completely fluid in it's appearance. A definite thumbs up from me!

Leggings - All Saints £20

Necklace - Topshop £8.50

Double Ring - Topshop £8.50

I paired it all with some river island military boots to edge it up a bit.

Oh My MAC!

Evening lovelies!

When I started blogging around a year ago I had very little in the way of makeup but a lot of passion to explore it. I'd spend hours drooling over fellow blogger's makeup collections, hoping that one day I'd have enough money for a huge collection of my own. I set up a little "makeup fund" and have been adding a couple of pounds here and there to it over the last year. Knowing it was coming up to a year since I started, I decided to have a little peak and see where I was up to... and gosh was I surprised! I had amounted a small fortune, albeit a very small fortune. But enough to get my makeup collection under way. Weighing up the fact that it was almost my birthday, and the fact that I hadn't splurged on makeup for a while, I headed straight to the MAC website and went a bit finger clicking crazy!

I did spent a lot, I'll admit. But a lot of the money went on the brushes (MAC brushes are notoriously expensive) and I knew they would be a good investment.

So here it is, my very much one off MAC haul!

Brow set: Clear

(Excuse the chipped polish in this one!)

It's gonna be a Lush Christmas!

Hey lovelies!

Okay, so i know it's not quite Christmas yet, but i'm one of those annoying festive people who believes the earlier Christmas starts, the better! And nothing says Christmas like a big batch of Lush goodies! :)

I popped into Lush in Manchester and managed to leave with all but one of the Christmas items. The exception was Buche de Noel, a face cleanser that isn't the most attractive of items, and as i don't see the point in spending £7 on a product that does the same as a good ol' simple face wipe, i passed.

So let's get cracking shall we?

1. Lil Lush Pud

Smaller than before, but still packing a punch fragrance wise. I've never been able to put my finger on exactly what this ballistic smells like, i'd say it's a typical "lush smell", not exactly helpful but it's been around so long i dare you to find someone who hasn't used it already any way!

2. Bearded Lady Bubble Bar

My first reaction to this attractive woman was "it looks like someones sat on one of the valentines mushrooms!" I haven't tried it yet, but it has a spicey smell; think cinnamon and brandy

3. Candy Cane Bubble Bar

Pretty much a doppelganger of the comforter, and just as delicious smelling! It's really sweet smelling, like candy and leaves skin super soft. A definite fave!

4. Sugar Plum Fairy

I've not exactly had the best of experiences with Lush sugar scrubs, but this one has changed my mind completely. Left my skin smelling so sweet and soft and no scratches, a plus!

5. Cinders Ballistic

My all time favourite ballistic! It has a really spicey, cinnamon smell and has little pop rocks on the top so when it's dropped in the bath, they crackle like cinders on a fire.

6. The Boog Ballistic

I've not tried this one yet, and again it's one of those smells i can't quite put my finger on. There are little bits of colour on the back that are suppose to resemble fireworks (type The Boog festival into google and you'll get it!)

7. Gingerbread House Bubble Bar

I love this so much i've already bought 5 more! Apart from being the cutest darned thing you've ever seen, it smells incredable.

8. Lip Dip

Have to say i've been really disappointed with this. Really fiddely and no pay off, give this one a miss

9. Manderin's Tea Party Soap

A lot of the products this Christmas seem to be citrus based, but if im honestly Christmas and oranges aren't a connection i tend to make. Again, i haven't used this yet, but i bet it'll be good to wake you up on a cold winter morning.

10. Satsumo Santa Ballistic

Another orangey/satsuma smell. I tried this one night thinking it'll wake me up rather than make me ready for bed, but the smell isn't overwhelming and i actually quite liked it.

11. Glogg

Love, love, love this! Reperchased a huge bottle before i was anywhere near finishing it. When you smell it in the bottle it smells of Cola bottles, but when you use it in the shower it smells like mulled wine. Gorgeous!

12. Snow Fairy

You would have to have been living under a lush rock not to know of how amazing this product is! Still to come across someone who dislikes it, smells incredabley sweet and bubblegummy

13. Snow Globe Soap

In the shop, this is shaped like a giant snow globe. I love the colour (not that it makes a difference really!) and it has a subtle fresh smell of lemon and grapefruit.

14. Snow Cake Soap

My all time favourite soap. It's so creamy and luxurious, leaving skin super soft. Smells of almonds, yummy!

15. Angel's Delight Soap

Another soap that makes me hate Lush for only having it out at Christmas. Smells of jelly babies and sweeties.

16. Once a Year Massage Bar

This is the only massage bar in the collection, and i've never used one before. It took me a while to get use to how oily and greasy they are, but the pay off is incredabley smooth, soft skin. Smells of brandy and cinnamon.

17. So White Ballistic

Being an apple addict, i love this ballistic! Think granny smiths. Plus, this was one of the only ballistics that i noticed had deffinitely moisterised my skin.

18. Winter Bath Ballistic

I haven't used this ballistic yet as i'm not 100% won over with the smell. It's based on Japanese bath traditions that are suppose to awaken sluggish skin. It has more of a herby smell, ginger, lemon grass and clove.

19. Christmas Eve Bubble Bar

Again, i haven't used this yet but i can't wait to because the smell is amazing. It smells of ylang ylang and jasmine, a real get you ready for bed scent!

20. Snow Fairy Lip Tint

Another thing i've had to reperchase 1.) because i love it 2.) it seems to run out a lot quicker than the lip balms. As the name suggests, it smells like snow fairy shower gel

21. Maple Tafy Lip Balm

This goes everywhere with me! Lovely syrupy smell and seriously works. My only dig at this product is it takes a lot of finger rubbing to pick up very little product.

22. (not in the picture as it was in the fridge!) Iced Wine Shower Jelly

These are the strangest things, but i love them. It has a citrusy smell again, grapefruit and orange. If you haven't tried a shower jelly before, i really recommend them.

All in all, i spent around £75-80. Not too bad considering i got 22 products and three free fresh face masks (try saying that realy quickly haha). Have any of you tried out the Christmas stuff yet? What do you guys think?

Pure hair envy - Pixie Lott

Hello lovelies!

I've been rocking slightly different versions of the some do for quite a while now, okay, four years! I've finally decided to take a plunge, I'm growing out my fringe and opting for a versitile do a la Pixie Lott.

I've not had a middle parting since I was 12 years old, and I'll admit I'm slightly scared of the change. But at the same time, I'm getting bored of the same old swept over side fringe. The beauty with this style is I can slip back into my side fridge security blanket if need be.

Have any of you guys made the leap to a centre parting?

My new puppy!

Hello lovelies!

So I want to make a little introduction to you all. The new addition to the family... Milo!

He's so adorable! I got him on Tuesday and he's just over 6 weeks old now. He's a pedigree jack russell and we named with after the jack russell in 'the mask'

He's definitely a handfull though! He always wants to play and has a bit of a thing for feet haha

I love him so much! I'm a very happy bunny :)

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa

I am in shoe heaven!

I ordered a few things off ASOS the other day, mostly some plain basics for back to college, tees and tanks and what not. I decided to add a cheeky shoe perchase to my order; some Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Ultragirl flats

They are to die for! i've been craving some for a while, though could never convince myself to part with £70 for a pair of flats. But these babies from the A/W collection captured my heart.

They're made out of moulded plastic (think jelly sandals) and contrary to how they appear, are soo soo comfy!

This particular shape (Ultragirl) comes with and without the bow in a range of different colours and prints. Vivienne Westwood is just one designer that has collaberated with the brand, though there are several others, even Barbie!

Overall they sell 32 different styles of shoe, ranging from flats to boots to heels, all made with the same moulded technique. I'd deffinately recommend you go check them out as they are so unique theres nothing really like them!
